We did a few different excursions during our trip to Croatia and this one was by far our favorite. Brac is a sleepier island compared to some others, but we... read more loved the charm and hospitality there. This tour was outstanding overall. Our guide, Tino, was very knowledgeable about the history of the island and had a fun and engaging personality. The old school military vehicle was a neat touch and turned heads everywhere we stopped. The olive oil experience was great (both the tour and the food) and our final stop for lunch was both delicious and in a location with an incredible view. Everything in between, from the beach to the top of the island, was fun and overall this tour felt unique among others. Don’t miss it!
September 25, 2022Met at the Ferry on Brac at 10am and dropped off again at 6pm (just!). Tour of the Island with Tinos, a local who was really interesting and a great... read more chap. Visit to a olive farm (lots of samples), a vineyard for lunch looking out to sea, freshly cooked fish and of course wine.
October 1, 2019Very well organised tour and very good communication. My daughter and I had an amazing tour with Martin, just us two and it was a real treat! Martin was an... read more excellent driver who shared with us interesting facts about the history and culture of the island and was attentive to our questions. We saw the olive oil museum where the guide there was fantastic and the oil very tasty, went through villages and saw the Brac bonsai church. We went through the national park Vidova Gora and at the highest point of the island with views on Zlatni Rat Beach ( refreshing but still worth it). We had a fantastic lunch in an authentic Mediterranean house with a friendly atmosphere and excellent food, and lastly we saw a quarry with the island’s famous limestone.
Overall a fantastic experience which was intimate and by the end we almost felt like friends! It was wonderful to have a local show us the island and we wouldn’t have been able to see everything without Martin and his jeep.
Highly recommend!!
Thank you again Martin and Explore Brac!

We have just completed a one day Tour Milna with Explore Brac.

The 4x4 was so good because we got to see so much more than if we had a car.
Tino's passion, knowledge of local history and cultures only added to our spectacular day.
We thoroughly recommend this tour, the company and especially Tino, our guide.
May 26, 2018We went on the 'On the Way to Zlatni Rat' tour recommended at our hotel - it was absolutely brilliant and we hugely recommend for those visiting Brac! Like other... read more reviews say, it feels very authentic and personal and not touristy at all. It was just 8 people hanging out with Tino, the guide, in a jeep and checking out Brac. Tino grew up in Brac and was so knowledgeable! He would stop and give us fascinating history lessons along the way. It was of course quite fun to ride around in an ex-military jeep and do some off-roading as well! As we were going off road, it definitely felt like we were getting to see parts of the island other visitors might not get to.
We loved the olive oil museum, which included a little meal at the end with wine, brandy, olive pate, and olive oils. We wanted to see Zlatni Rat, but it was absolutely heaving that day, so it was perfect to just get an hour there to see it and get out - we'd been thinking otherwise we'd take the bus down to see it, and we're so thankful we did it this way instead. It was very cool to go up Vidova Gora and check out the view. The lunch at the vineyard was a real highlight too - grilled fish caught by the farmer that morning, a schnapps tasting session. Also just driving around and seeing all the places like Škrip and Nerežišća was pretty special.
August 24, 2022The jeep tour is fun and informative. We shared the trip with a German couple who were just great. We loved the view from the moutainside restaurant and the food and local drink! We would definitely recommend.

We made an unplanned stop on Brac during our sailing journey due to weather. We booked this tour on a recommendation since we had no plans for the day, and... read more it turned out to be a top highlight of our Croatian vacation. Martin, our guide, was fantastic - very knowledgeable and passionate about showing us the best of the island. He took us to hidden, out of the way spots that no tourist could have found on their own - a gorgeous art studio in the hills, an intimate lunch at a gorgeous family owned vineyard overlooking the sea (with locally caught fish, wine and hand brewed spirits), and a stop at breathtaking Smrka Bay (we were the only people there, and our kids went for a swim). We also stopped at the beach in Bol, toured and tasted at an olive farm, and went to the top of the island mountain (it was foggy but still worth the trip). We travelled with 3 kids between 7 and 12 and they were never bored because the tour had something for everyone, with frequent stops. The off-road vehicle allowed us to explore less travelled places and cover ground on the island much more quickly than if we were confined to paved roads. I highly recommend this tour - and ask for Martin.

... read more /> Through the beautiful town of Splitska, stopping at all the best viewing points. To the olive oil museum where you can really get a feel for the love and passion put into their work, the hosts at the museum were very entertaining and without spoiling anything, turned us all into olive oil specialists! We were treated to a refreshing brunch there before we departed.
Vidova Gora is a sight to be hold, the views are nearly endless. The area is a real crowd pleaser, so much so that there was a wedding there the day before which 2 of the people on the tour had attended.
A much needed drop off at the Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) beach to cool ourselves off in the beautiful blue sea.
After the trip to the beach we were taken to the most authentic household where were treated to a few of the hosts homemade alcoholic beverages and a delicious meal, most of which is grown from his land.
Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

The Olive Oil tasting was very cool. One warning: This is sort of a 'jeep tour' (Tino is guide and driver), and many of these roads are unpaved and windy/hilly. We LOVED the adventure, but the faint-of-heart or those truly afraid of heights may have a few gasping moments on an occasionally bumpy ride. THE BEST PART - FOR SURE, you must book the optional private dinner, on the owner's family property in Smrka Bay. A traditional Croatian meal (and local organic wine), cooked by Martin and his friends, served on the water over a private bay. Truly priceless.
