The food here (we were expecting a little snack) was beautifully fresh with amazing tapenade, fresh bread olives and tomatoes washed down with a little red wine . Visited highest point on the island, local quarry where the beautiful stone of the island is excavated. We then went back to the Tomas family house and were shown the vineyard and where they make the wine. We sampled a delicious cherry brandy and a walnut liqueur and then sat down to a wonderful tasting board of home grown grilled vegetables, cheeses and meats with a delicious glass of their home made wine. The tour was definitely the highlight of our holiday seeing how the family are so self sufficient and living off the land. We would have loved to have done another tour but had run out of time.

Tino took us to... read more hidden, out of the way spots that we could not have found on our own – and some only accessible via jeep: an art studio in the hills, an olive farm, a limestone quarry, an intimate lunch at a gorgeous family owned vineyard overlooking the sea (with locally caught fish, and freshly grown vegetables for salad, and desert, along with wine and hand brewed spirits), a stop at the Zlatni Rat Beach (Golden Horn) near Bol and went for a swim. We also stopped in the town of Bol (and were invited into a local party at a winery/bar). A great adventure: please note, jeep ride was great, sometimes bumpy through olive fields, this is not for those looking for a fancy trip, or luxury. Highly recommended.

We visited local stone sculpturer, traditional olive oil press museum with lunch, beautiful quiet villages, the peak of Vidova gora, Golden Horn beach and his friend's house for dinner.

Quite a lot of the tour was off road and very exciting, the children really enjoyed it!

Tino was very friendly and knowledgeable about the island and was very passionate about making sure the tour was to give us a feel for how locals live on the island.

We were lucky to have the tour to ourselves.

The lunch was fabulous, with breads, tomatoes, tapenades, olive oils and fabulous wine.

Dinner was fresh fish caught by our host who went diving for it that morning, cooked on a BBQ with lovely grilled vegetables. What a treat!

Our guide, Tino, was very knowledgeable about the history of the island and had a fun and engaging personality. The old school military vehicle was a neat touch and turned heads everywhere we stopped. The olive oil experience was great (both the tour and the food) and our final stop for lunch was both delicious and in a location with an incredible view. Everything in between, from the beach to the top of the island, was fun and overall this tour felt unique among others. Don’t miss it!
